Dear Sir / Madam,
It is with great pleasure that we present to you the Innovative Technologies for Manufacturing
Expo (ITM Expo) 2008 featuring the latest innovative technologies & design engineering for the manufacturing sector.
We believe that our initiative will help you present your technologies to the end-users to enhance
their technological capabilities through production process improvements and improve their export competitiveness
in existing markets and accessing new markets.
The ITM Expo attempts to go beyond the traditional framework of a trade fair and includes various events
such as focused B2B meetings, thematic discussions, specialized presentations, demonstrations and shows of modern
technologies and machines in operation.
In a liberalized and open economy, competitiveness increasingly depends on the ability to incorporate
new technology and management practices. The ability to acquire, diffuse and master technologies as well
as to innovate can be achieved in many ways. Our endeavour is to provide a platform to network with innovators,
technology providers, technology institutes, technology parks, business development centres/business parks and
firms in related industries.
India's manufacturing base, is the fourth largest among emerging economies. India's competitiveness lies in
relatively high end manufacturing. Manufacturing recorded an impressive growth rate of 12.5% per cent during the year 2006-07.
The top seven growth industries in the manufacturing sector are auto, textiles, cement, steel, pharma, gems and jewellery
and engineering. Manufacturing exports from India are likely to grow to $300 billion in 2015 with a 3.5% share of the
world's manufacturing trade. Of the total $300 billion, $70-$90 billion is expected to come from just four sectors
apparel, auto components, speciality chemicals and electricals and electronic products.
The Indian manufacturing sector also provides opportunities to leading multinational corporations looking to leverage
the country's manufacturing advantage. For many of these companies, India is a design house, a tooling centre, a components base and a manufacturing hub.
We look forward to welcome you at this important event.
Regards,
Yours sincerely,
Vijay Kalantri
